BOARD DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS
STRATEGIC DIRECTION. STRONGER OVERSIGHT, SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP
Practical workshops that help directors ask better questions, understand their responsibilities, and connect board decisions to strategy, finance, risk, and leadership continuity.
Each session is grounded in real boardroom responsibilities and can be delivered individually, as a customized board program, or as part of a new director learning path.

A LEARNING PATH FOR NEW DIRECTORS
Strong onboarding is more than providing a governance manual. New directors need time to understand their role, build confidence, and learn how strategy, finance, risk, meetings, and leadership oversight come together.
The six-workshop series can be structured as a progressive learning path for new directors, while also serving as a practical refresher for the full board.
Suggested Learning Path
Foundation - Boardroom Ready and Boardroom Dynamics
Oversight - Financial Stewardship and Risk Oversight
Direction and Continuity - Strategy in the Boardroom and Leadership Continuity
The series may be delivered over several months, incorporated into the annual board calendar, or scheduled alongside new director recruitment and onboarding.
Boardroom

BOARD RETREATS
Board retreats create the space to step away from routine agendas and focus on the issues that require deeper discussion.
Each retreat is designed around the board’s current priorities and may focus on:
-
strategic direction and annual priorities;
-
board and management alignment;
-
board effectiveness and culture;
-
roles, expectations, and decision-making;
-
leadership continuity and succession;
-
financial sustainability and risk; or
-
preparation for a period of significant change.
Retreats may range from a focused half-day session to a full-day facilitated program.
Pre-retreat consultation and customized materials ensure the time is practical, relevant, and connected to decisions the board needs to make.
